Community Outreach

Bringing mental health awareness, education, and support directly to local communities across Uganda. We believe that healing starts where people live, work, and gather.

Through our Community Outreach Program, RYD Mental Health extends compassionate care beyond clinical walls. In 2025, we took our mission to Mitooma District, going into communities and villages to meet people where they are — listening, educating, and supporting families and individuals facing mental health challenges. From door-to-door visits to community gatherings, we brought hope and healing directly to those who need it most.

What We Do in the Community

Our outreach activities are designed to break barriers, reduce stigma, and bring mental health support to those who need it most.

Mental Health Awareness Campaigns

We conduct community-wide campaigns to educate people about mental health, reduce stigma, and encourage help-seeking behaviors across villages and urban settlements.

Door-to-Door Outreach

Our trained volunteers visit homes and community centers to provide mental health first aid, identify at-risk individuals, and connect them to professional support.

Community Support Groups

We establish and facilitate peer support groups where community members share experiences, learn coping strategies, and build resilience together.

Resource Distribution

We distribute mental health information materials, self-help guides, and connect communities with essential healthcare resources and referral networks.
